About the role:

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in SEMH needs to join our team. In this rewarding role, you will support students across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, providing tailored assistance to help them navigate the challenges they face both in and out of the classroom. This is a full-time, long-term position where you will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced teachers, specialist SEN staff, and other support staff to make a genuine impact on children’s educational journeys. No two days are the same, and your adaptability, empathy, and dedication will be key in helping students develop confidence, independence, and emotional resilience.

Application Requirements:

• Experience working with children with SEMH needs, preferably in a school setting.
• A genuine passion for supporting children with SEN and helping them overcome challenges.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise effectively with teachers, students, and parents.
• Patience, resilience, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
• An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).

Key Responsibilities:

• Work 1:1 with students and in small groups to provide targeted SEMH support.
• Help students manage their emotions and behaviours, enabling them to fully engage in learning activities.
• Collaborate with teachers to create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Implement and adapt individual education plans (IEPs) for children with SEMH needs.
• Provide feedback to teachers and parents on students’ progress, celebrating achievements and identifying areas for development.
