About the role:

Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual ready to make a real difference in the lives of children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? If you’re passionate about creating a positive, nurturing environment where every child feels supported and valued, this is the role for you! As an SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in SEMH, you will play a vital role in supporting students who face challenges with their emotional and mental well-being. You’ll be working across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, helping children with diverse needs, such as anxiety, ADHD, and other behavioural difficulties. You’ll collaborate closely with teachers, the SENCO, and other support staff to deliver tailored interventions and create a learning space where all students feel secure, understood, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Application Requirements:

• Has experience working with children with SEMH or other special educational needs.

• Can demonstrate patience, empathy, and resilience in challenging situations.

• Works well as part of a team, showing flexibility and adaptability.

• Has a genuine passion for supporting children’s mental and emotional development.

• Holds an enhanced DBS check or is willing to obtain one.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and group support to students with SEMH needs.

• Assist teachers in managing challenging behaviours and implementing strategies.

• Work collaboratively with the SENCO to create personalised learning plans.

• Monitor and record students’ progress, reporting any concerns to the SEN team.

• Encourage positive interactions and emotional regulation in students.
