About the role:

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant and supportive school community in Brent, London. If you have experience working with children who require specialised support and thrive in environments where every day is unique, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. As an SEN TA with a specialism in SEMH, you will be working one-on-one or in small groups with students who require additional emotional and behavioral support. Your role will involve working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other support staff to create tailored interventions that address each child’s unique needs. You will provide emotional support, help manage classroom behaviors, and foster a positive and inclusive learning environment. This is a full-time, long-term position that requires resilience, patience, and a true passion for supporting children’s development.

Application Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs is essential.

• Strong understanding of behavior management strategies.

• Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students, staff, and parents.

• A calm, positive, and proactive approach to supporting students in challenging situations.

• A desire to contribute to the personal and academic growth of children with special needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students with SEMH needs in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

• Implement and support personalized intervention strategies.

• Assist with the delivery of engaging, tailored lessons that support both emotional and academic development.

• Manage challenging behaviors in a positive and effective manner.

• Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCO, and parents to monitor student progress and well-being.
