About the role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant with Specialism in Challenging Behaviours, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students who may face significant barriers to learning due to behavioural challenges. Working across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, you will provide one-on-one and small group support, helping students engage with the curriculum and build positive coping mechanisms. Your expertise in managing challenging behaviour will be essential in helping children navigate emotional and social difficulties. In this role, you’ll work closely with the SENCO, class teachers, and the school’s pastoral team, ensuring tailored support for each child.

This is a full-time, long-term position, with the opportunity to become an integral part of a compassionate and skilled team. Whether you are working with a single child with complex needs or supporting a small group, your impact will be both significant and deeply rewarding.

• Previous experience working with children who have SEN and challenging behaviours.

• A patient, empathetic, and resilient personality.

• Strong knowledge of behaviour management strategies.

• Ability to build trusting relationships with students, staff, and parents.

• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing one-on-one or small group support to children with behavioural challenges.

• Implementing behaviour management techniques to help students regulate their emotions and behaviour.

• Assisting in creating and adapting resources to meet individual needs.

• Working closely with teachers and SENCO to deliver tailored interventions.

• Encouraging positive social interactions and helping children develop emotional resilience.
