About the Role

The HR Assistant will provide essential administrative and data entry support to the Talent Acquisition, Onboarding, Benefits/Leaves, and Employee Experience teams. As the initial point of contact of the HR department for those we serve internally, this role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of HR processes and initiatives. The HR Assistant will handle a variety of tasks, including data entry, document management, and general administrative support, while also having the opportunity to learn and grow in the HR field. This is a great foundational role for those that are seeking a career in the HR field.

Responsibilities:

· Provide administrative support to employee experience, onboarding, and talent acquisition units.

· Accurately input and update employee information in the HRIS database, ensuring all records are current and compliant with company policies.

· Perform monthly audits to ensure that all required employee documentation is collected and maintained.

· Assist the Employee Experience team in creating and distributing employee engagement materials, such as surveys, forms, flyers, and event invitations, using tools like Canva and other design tools.

· Learn and utilize new HR technologies, including HRIS (ADP Workforce Now), to support HR operations.

· Support the Talent Acquisition team with tasks such as sourcing, screening and coordinating candidate communications for entry level openings.

· Ensure all HR activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.

· Support the HR leadership team with employee engagement initiatives and the overall employee experience.

· Answer phones, emails, and external inquiries, routing them to the appropriate party within HR or the organization.

· Perform other related duties as assigned to support the HR department's overall objectives.

Additional Requirements:

· Authorized to work in the U.S.

· Ability to work in-person in New York City (NY) for at least 3 days or more per week.

· Ability to travel to other Rising Ground sites as necessary.

Corporate Office: This role operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday in our Headquarters at 1333 Broadway office in Midtown Manhattan. Work hours options are 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, 9:30 am - 5:30 pm, 10 am - 6 pm.

Qualifications:

· Minimum of High School Diploma and 1-2 years of experience in Human Resources or Customer Service.

· Previous experience in data entry, administrative support, or a related role.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

· Ability to quickly learn new technologies, including HRIS databases (ADP Workforce Now), ATS (Applicant Tracking System) and design tools like Canva.

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and document management.

· Excellent organizational, time-management and multi-tasking skills

· An exemplary model of professionalism, dependability, and trustworthiness.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

· A positive attitude and willingness to learn and take on new challenges

The pay rate for this position is between $45,000 - $55,000/Yr., depending on experience and fit for the role. Rising Ground offers competitive compensation based on the midpoint of the market among not-for-profit organizations of similar size. We believe in compensating staff members fairly in relation to each other, their qualifications, and their impact on behalf of the organization, and take internal and external equity seriously.
