Overview:

This position will assist in recruitment processes, maintain employee records, ensure compliance with labor laws, and help foster a positive workplace culture. The HR Assistant will be a key point of contact for employees regarding HR-related inquiries and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with the recruitment process by scheduling interviews, coordinating communication with candidates, and performing reference checks.

Coordinate and facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, conducting background checks, and organizing orientation sessions.

Maintain and update employee records in HR databases, ensuring information is accurate and up-to-date.

Ensure compliance with state and federal labor laws and company policies.

Assist with the administration of employee benefits programs and enrollment.

Assist with multi-state payroll processing, ensuring accurate timekeeping and adherence to payroll deadlines.

Address employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and other HR matters.

Help organize and coordinate HR-related events such as training sessions, meetings, and employee engagement activities.

Manage HR-related documentation and correspondence, including letters, memos, and emails.

Provide administrative support to the HR team, including drafting correspondence, managing calendars, and processing mail.

Process employee requests regarding HR policies, benefits, and compensation, directing inquiries to appropriate staff when necessary.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

1-3 years of experience in an HR role.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Familiarity with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with recruitment and onboarding processes.

Knowledge of payroll systems and employee benefits administration.

The total annual compensation for this position is $45,000 - $55,000.  Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
