The Role – Learning Support Assistant

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support students aged 14-16 in developing vital life skills, with the aim of aiding their progress into further education. The role requires managing challenging behaviour, so prior experience in behaviour management is essential. While experience in a PRU or similar setting is preferable, a background in tutoring or mentoring is also valued, to help guide student through their GCSE’s.

This PRU School is based in Newham, with close transport links to the DLR. The PRU is small and cares for a total of 18 students, aged 14 - 16 most of which have been excluded from a mainstream school. The school also maintains a Good rating issued by Ofsted as of 2022.
