Overview:

Wyatt Technology, a business segment of Waters Corporation is seeking a highly motivated and efficient candidate to join our finance team in Santa Barbara, CA.

Reporting to the Controller at Wyatt the Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for managing and executing various financial reporting functions, supporting SOX control processes, and providing assistance with accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) functions. This role also includes ad hoc reporting and audit support.

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting Functions (45%): Support the general accounting processes including:Ensuring month-end and year-end close procedures are completed on a timely basis and in accordance with US GAAP.

Preparing and posting journal entries with appropriate backup.

Reconciling Balance Sheet accounts and analyzing General Ledger fluctuations on a monthly basis.

Assist with Tax Preparation for annual corporate returns and other tax filings to comply with regulations.

Provide Audit support for financial transactions.

SOX Control Support Functions (35%): Support the internal controls processes including:Monitoring and ensuring internal controls are carried out on a timely basis and sufficient documentation is retained.

Deliver training and guidance to employees on internal controls procedures.

Provide documentation support for Internal and External Auditors.

Supporting Controller on addressing control deficiencies and implementing corrective actions.

Accounts Receivable (AR) Support Functions (10%)Assist with AR processes as a backup to help ensure timely collections.

Reconcile AR accounts and research as needed.

Accounts Payable (AP) Support Functions (5%)Assist with AP processes as a backup to help ensure timely payments.

Reconcile AP accounts and research as needed.

Ad Hoc Reporting (5%)Prepare and analyze ad hoc financial reports as needed.

Qualifications:

Education: 

Bachelor’s degree

Experience:

2-4 years of accounting experience, public companies experience is a plus.

Strong knowledge of GAAP and SOX compliance.

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
