We’re looking for a Payroll Tax Specialist to manage and ensure accuracy in employee and employer tax withholdings. You’ll handle tax-related tasks on a weekly, biweekly, quarterly, and annual basis, including managing new and existing tax accounts, making necessary adjustments, and responding to tax inquiries.

A DAY IN THE LIFE:
Reconcile, transmit, and validate tax withholdings regularly.
Register and manage new payroll taxes for new work locations.
Update or close tax accounts as locations change.
Adjust year-end balances and W2-C forms as needed.
Complete all amended filings.
Audit employee tax records to ensure accuracy and minimize W2-C adjustments.
Stay updated on tax changes and ensure correct application.
Handle tax authority notices and correspondence promptly.
Review and update employee tax setups for new hires, transfers, and address changes.
Assist with quarterly W-2 reconciliations.
Balance and review US and Canada tax tables efficiently.
Verify W2 & T4 information before printing and distribution.
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations and practices.
Attention to detail and accuracy in handling tax-related tasks.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
5-7 years of experience in payroll tax and multi-state payroll processing.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus.
Experience with MasterTax software is desirable.
Experience handling multiple FEINs, states, and localities.
Strong understanding of payroll tax compliance, including federal, multi-state, and Canadian regulations.
High level of confidentiality required.
