A growing, Houston-based professional services firm, G&A Partners is currently seeking a Onboarding Payroll Tax Specialist to join its team at the corporate office or G&A satellite office.

Summary

The Payroll Tax Onboarding Specialist will be primarily responsible for supporting the implementation of multiple client companies transitioning to a professional employer organization (PEO) service model or an Administrative Services Only (ASO) service model as it relates to all payroll tax related issues.

Responsibilities:

Acts as payroll tax subject matter expert during process of transitioning clients into the PEO or ASO Service Model.

Researches Federal/State tax rules and laws.

Attends internal handoff calls for onboarding clients.

Attends kick off calls with onboarding clients.

Conducts tax breakout calls with onboarding clients.

Composes recap email to document tax breakout call.

Collects agency tax documents from onboarding clients, i.e. SUTA Rate Notices, IRS SS-4, POAs, copies of previously filed tax returns.

Collects PEO or ASO client tax form from onboarding clients.

Collects QTD and YTD payroll registers from onboarding clients.

Collects logins for onboarding clients' tax accounts.

Provides instructions to onboarding clients on providing G&A with TPA access to tax accounts.

Contacts states as necessary to help gain access to onboarding clients' tax accounts.

Creates successor wage files.

Creates quarterly client reporting tax data files.

Enters bill pends to collect prior SUTA taxes.

Updates SUA bill rates and cost rates for onboarding clients.

Acts as a tax liaison for onboarding clients.

Maintains workflow and needed tax documents in proper database.

Prepares tax notification letters or tax account closure forms for onboarding clients' tax accounts no longer needed.

Maintains project timeline spreadsheet.

Manages and resolves cases and tasks promptly.

Creates new client folders.

Maintains database of tax report paths in various payroll systems to assist client in procuring necessary tax registers for transitioning to G&A.

Addresses prospective client questions.

Responds to client emails.

Manages payroll errors/questions on onboarding clients' payroll.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience.

Skills & Experience:

4 years of experience.

PEO experience is strongly preferred.

Excellent people, customer service and organizational skills

Excellent analytical skills and ability to review and analyze tax data to identify and resolve problems

Ability to multi-task and take on multiple projects with competing priorities and deadlines

Extremely detail oriented and focused on completion and follow up

Strong collaboration, verbal and written communication skills

Certifications/Licenses

CPP nice to have but not required.
