Location: Hyde, SK14
Start date: 1 September 2026
Contract: Full-time, five days per week
Duration: Until the October half-term
About the role
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic KS2 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 6 class at a primary school in Hyde.
The successful applicant must have previous experience delivering Read Write Inc. interventions and be confident supporting pupils with their reading, writing and phonics development.
Key responsibilities
Support teaching and learning within a Year 6 classroom
Deliver Read Write Inc. sessions to individuals and small groups
Provide targeted literacy and numeracy support
Help pupils prepare for the transition to secondary school
Support positive behaviour in line with school policies
Assist the teacher with classroom activities and resources
Help maintain a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment
Monitor pupils' progress and provide feedback to the class teacherRequirements
Recent experience working as a Teaching Assistant within KS2
Practical experience delivering Read Write Inc. - essential
Confidence supporting Year 6 pupils
A good understanding of the KS2 National Curriculum
Strong communication and classroom-management skills
A caring, reliable and proactive approach
An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain oneHow to apply
