Location: Tameside
Salary: £17.58 per hour + Overtime (Potential to earn £45,000+ per annum with overtime)
Hours:

* Monday to Thursday: 07:45am – 17:00pm

* Friday: 07:45am – 10:45pm

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Inspector to join our client who are a well established precision engineering firm based in Tameside. With a strong reputation for quality and reliability, they specialise in the manufacture of high-precision components for a variety of industries. The company operates from a modern facility and is committed to continuous improvement, investing in both advanced machinery and the development of its workforce. They maintain a strong focus on delivering products that meet exacting customer standards, supported by a dedicated quality control team.

Key Responsibilities:

* Perform formal evaluations and inspections of machined products at various stages (first-off, patrol, and final inspections) to ensure compliance with manufacturing procedures and quality standards.

* Accurately record all measurements and inspection checks.

* Identify and respond to quality issues as they arise.

* Report quality issues to the appropriate personnel.

* Assess feasibility of rework and implement corrective actions when required.

* Liaise with internal departments to promote the delivery of high-quality products.

* Work cooperatively with team members and accept constructive feedback from management.

Qualifications:

* Fully time-served engineer

* Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering

Essential Skills and Experience:

* Proficient in using manual measuring equipment such as micrometers, vernier calipers, and height gauges

* Ability to reverse engineer and create detailed reports from samples

* Experience in completing customer documentation

* Familiar with the control and calibration of inspection, measuring, and test equipment per company procedures

* Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

* Skilled in producing clear, concise written reports

* Capable of working to both company and customer quality plans
