A supportive and well-regarded Primary School in Haringey, North London is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026.
This Higher Level Teaching Assistant role offers a varied and rewarding opportunity for a confident practitioner who enjoys both intervention work and classroom teaching responsibilities. As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will lead targeted interventions across the school while also covering classes when required, including teaching a Year 5 class.
The successful Higher Level Teaching Assistant will be comfortable leading learning independently and supporting pupils to achieve their full potential.
Higher Level Teaching Assistant Responsibilities
Delivering intervention programmes as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant
Covering classes across the primary phase as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant
Teaching a Year 5 class when required as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant
Supporting pupils with varying abilities as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant
Working closely with teachers and senior leaders as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant
Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Full-time role, Monday to Friday (8:30am - 4:00pm)
