Title: Key Account Manager-Food Ingredients
Location: WFH
Relocation Assistance: No
THIS ROLE IS REMOTE WITH PREFERRED LOCATION(S) BEING DALLAS, TX, CHICAGO, IL, OR BOSTON, MA. May consider candidates with solid experience outside of these locations.
The Key Account Manager plays an integral role in helping the Company become our most strategic customers preferred supplier. Leading cross-functional teams within the Company to develop and execute both short and long-term strategic account plans with their assigned customers will be required. The Key Account Manager will proactively lead efforts to develop and grow their accounts while also maintaining the current business.
Develops and executes on both short and long-term strategic account plans for assigned key accounts; regularly reviews and provides status reports on progress against account plan and sales budget
Independently identifies customer needs and works closely with Marketing, Product Management, Product Development, Customer Service and Finance staff, etc to deliver marketable products and solutions
Obtains and reports marketing data for successful achievement of business objectives and strategies; monitors trends, competitive activity, product development, and market penetration; recommends course of action to prevent loss of existing business and growth of new business
Plans, schedules, and makes regular calls to assigned accounts; facilitates meetings for various company professionals to provide multi-level support and relationships
Manages contracts and pricing, including negotiations, at assigned accounts
Communicates and maintains accurate sales forecasts and is both accountable and responsible for delivering budget and growth targets
Responds to customer inquiries for samples, technical/quality/regulatory data as well as support on the use and application of products
Receives limited supervision and direction
Must comply with all policies and procedures of the corporation
Perform other duties as required
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors degree with MBA is required; technical degree is preferred
Minimum, 10-15 years progressive sales or business development experience with experience in managing multiple complex CPGs within the food ingredient industry
Strong leadership, relationship-building and negotiation skills with a proven track record of developing and executing strategic plans are required, having an existing network across multiple CPGs across the food ingredient industry is preferred
The candidate must have a strong business acumen with an ability to lead and develop cross-functional opportunities between the Company and their customers across all levels within the organizations
Must be willing to travel up to 50% with overnight stays required
Base Salary - 150K-170K + bonus
