Overview:

The Staff Accountant performs analysis and development of the financial information required to successfully support Sonny’s endeavors. The analyst will work with people at all levels of the organization to report, monitor, and manage key financial and non-financial performance indicators. This position also helps the business unit achieve goals, anticipate needs and resolve problems

Responsibilities:

• Distribute Weekly and Monthly reports

• File state sales tax returns

• Support Month-end and Year-end closing

• Reconcile Balance sheet accounts on monthly basis

• Collect data and calculate monthly and quarterly sales and use tax as well as Ohio CAT

• Responsible for entire Fixed Assets process – from collecting approval documentation to capitalizing asset in SAP

• Support Month-end and Year-end closing

• Support Year-end audit

• Back up for Accounts Receivable

• Back up for Accounts Payable

• Secures financial information by completing database backups; maintaining confidentiality

• Maintains accounting controls by following policies and procedures; complying with federal, state, and local

financial legal requirements

• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications

• Accomplishes Financial and Organization mission by completing related results as needed

• Avoids legal challenges by complying with legal requirements

• Document workflow and work procedures

• File state sales tax return

Qualifications:

• 2 year Degree required, with a concentration in Business or Accounting

• 5+ yrs. of Finance experience.

• Experience with an ERP manufacturing system required; SAP experience preferred.

• Advanced skills in MS Excel Required.
