Staff Accountant, Accounting & Finance Department, Leasing

Responsibilities:
Below is an overview of the duties and responsibilities you would take on in this role:
Responsible for ensuring transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP and accounting policies
Prepare monthly reconciliations and analysis related to balance sheet accounts as assigned
Perform fluctuation analysis of expenditures on a monthly basis
Analyze process breaks or gaps and determine best methodology for moving forward
Actively assist in the development of expanded month end and quarterly checklists
Assist in transactional level research as needed
Become a subject matter expert with the various financial and analytical tools utilized by the Accounting and Finance team
Additional tasks to be performed as requested
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Accounting
In-depth understanding of US GAAP
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills – ability to identify discrepancies, perform research, and work toward resolution
Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience working with balance sheet reconciliations
Experience with a larger GL system
Advanced Microsoft Excel experience
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties of the position
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
