Your Team Responsibilities:

We are looking for a developer who:· Has a strong sense of product ownership – Mapping developers identify with our customers and want to understand and help financial risk managers. We identify with the product itself and take on responsibility for shepherding and nurturing our service to make it the backbone of a high-performance high-volume interactive risk application.· Has strong communication skills, both technical and business – Mapping developers work with many groups to solve problems, implement new features, and maintain the stability of our systems. This requires effective communication with other developers and testers, as well as product managers and business contacts.· Has an understanding of financial instruments and terms – Mapping developers take an active role in troubleshooting problems and implementing new mapping functionality.· Has good problem solving skills, both in product design and software design – Mapping developers are not just implementers, we collaborate with our product management and research teams to solve customer problems through designing software that enables our customers to do complicated risk management analysis simply and efficiently. Position Normalization and Mapping developers also work within a high-performance service-based architecture to provide horizontally scalable services. Developers with broad problem-solving talents and an eye for good software design will find our environment enriching and our projects challenging and rewarding.· Aggressively seeks out problems and resolves them – MSCI continues to provide premier interactive applications and managed services that provide critical risk management reports to the biggest players in financial services. The Risk Manager platform is richly featured but is also reliable and robust. We’re looking for teammates who ensure product quality through well thought out design and extensive unit testing.

Your Key Ressponsibilities:

· Design and implement features within our mapping systems and tools for transforming client’s financial instruments.· Design and implement features within our North Start Architecture and tools enabling the storage and retrieval of client’s financial data.· Collaborate with business analysts, product managers, and researchers to review feature specifications, determine feasible implementations, and work together to determine best product designs.· Implement extensive automated functional and performance tests.· Maintain stability of existing services and their underlying libraries.· Make general contributions to the application and technical architecture· 3rd tier production support

Your skills and experience that will help you excel:

· Java experience· Spring Boot· Kubernetes, Rancher, and containerization· Azure DevOps· Version control systems· Python experience· Service-oriented architecture· JUnit unit testing· XML processing / XSLT· Java memory management and memory profiling· IntelliJ/ Eclipse IDE· Maven/Gradle· CI/CD concepts· Developing software in a globally distributed development team
