Overview:
Your role as the Engineering Supervisor for Supplier Quality will be to lead and develop a team of Engineers and Analysts primarily responsible for supplier management for vendor supplied electronics in support of various submarine programs. This position will require a strong influencer with an ability to motivate, drive, and accomplish tasks within performance standards. In addition, the Engineering Supervisor will be responsible for leading innovation in their team’s development of quality instruction while maintaining a high level of quality in the products being certified.
Detailed responsibilities include:
Assure accuracy and integrity of team performance
Develop performance reporting strategies and implement quality improvement programs
Train Employees and manage change
Develop quality management processes and inspection instructions
Participate at Supplier Program Review/Assessment as Supplier Quality Management and provide input to strengthen Supplier performance.
Perform technical evaluations of risks based on Supplier performance data
Monitor internal quality performance and develop root cause and corrective actions to gaps in performance
Travel is required up to 25%
Qualifications:
Required:
B.S. in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) field
4+ years in Quality, Operations or Engineering
4+ years in leadership, coaching, or mentoring
Understanding of Quality Management Systems
Knowledge of NDT and Welding processes
Experience in electronics
Previous certification or training in continuous improvement, root cause analysis and technical writing
Previous experience interpreting contractual requirements, manufacturing drawings, and military or commercial specifications
Previous experience with Manufacturing Planning
Preferred:
ASQ certifications
