Location: Staplehurst

Pay Scale: £83.33 per day

GSL Education are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant who can work with our client schools in Staplehurst. This role is ideal for someone who wants to play a crucial role in supporting students and teachers in the science department while gaining valuable experience in education.

Job summary:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will play a key role in supporting students with special educational needs, helping them access the curriculum and thrive in their learning environment. This is a rewarding opportunity for a compassionate and dedicated individual who is passionate about making a positive impact in students' lives.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, your key responsibilities are to:

Assist developing and implementing tailored IEPs for students with SEN.
Work closely with teachers to adapt lesson plans and activities to meet the specific needs of students.
Help with classroom management and preparation of learning materials
Offer emotional and behavioural support to students, helping them build confidence and manage challenges
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, essential requirements include:

Previous experience working with children with SEN needs is highly desirable.
Relevant qualifications in education or childcare are preferred.
An understanding of SEN and the different strategies to support students with a variety of needs.
Driving licence is preferable
An updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
