Location: Tunbridge Wells

Pay Scale: £83.33 per day

Start date: ASAP

GSL Education are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant who can join our team at schools in Tunbridge Wells. This is a great opportunity for an individual who has a passion for working with young people and making a difference for those with Special Educational Needs.

Job summary:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to assist students with special educational needs. Your role will focus on providing personalised support, helping students engage with their learning, and ensuring they feel valued and included in school life. This is a rewarding opportunity to positively impact students who need extra support to thrive academically and socially.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, your key responsibilities are to:

Assist developing and implementing tailored IEPs for students with special educational needs (SEN).
Provide one-on-one or small group support to students.
Help with classroom management and preparation of learning materials
Support students in developing social and communication skills.
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, essential requirements include:

Previous experience working with children with SEN needs is highly desirable.
Relevant qualifications in education or childcare are preferred.
Patience, empathy, and resilience.
Driving licence is preferable.
An updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
