About the role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), you will play a crucial role in supporting children with autism across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. You’ll work closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure each student has the tools they need to succeed, both academically and socially. This is a rewarding, hands-on role where you’ll build strong, trusting relationships with students, helping them overcome challenges and celebrate successes. Whether you’re working one-on-one or in small groups, your focus will be on creating a calm, structured environment that enables students to reach their full potential.

Application Requirements:

• Experience working with children with ASD, preferably within a primary school setting.

• A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting children with SEN.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

• Passion for helping children with special needs thrive in an educational setting.

• Relevant qualifications or experience in SEN support are desirable but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored support for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

• Implement individualised learning plans to address students’ specific needs and help them develop academically, emotionally, and socially.

• Work closely with the class teacher to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

• Assist with social skills development and behavior management.

• Encourage independence and help students build self-confidence in their abilities.
