Job: Full time English Teacher for Key Stage 2, 3 & 4.
Pay: Up to £175 per day, experience depending

This school is looking for highly skilled and adaptable teacher who can inspire and motivate young people to become inquisitive, resilient, adults. You will work with enthusiastic and committed colleagues and in partnership with staff from other schools, health and social care services. This school focuses on the individual students needs, working to enable them to progress academically, socially and emotionally.

This school teaches students whose chronic health conditions prevent them from attending their school, our purpose is to maintain their education through periods of illness so the effects on their learning are minimised.

Students are taught here because they have been admitted to hospital or referred by community-based health practitioners. Teaching is delivered where possible in classes, but also in small group and 1:1 situations on or away from one of the service sites. The school teaches across three sites and a large number of the students are taught 1 to 1 in their homes or in a community setting. The majority of long- and medium-term students we teach are referred by Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services.

If you are the successful applicant you will be:

* Highly engaging;

* Highly creative and adept at differentiating tasks to meet individual student’s needs, often on an instantaneous basis during lessons.

* Able to communicate and engage with parents who have a child with a chronic health condition.

* Able to work with networks of professionals so that education provision works harmoniously with health and social care that is being provided to students and their families.

* Enjoy working in an environment where you can use a creative approach to student engagement.

* You will work across the various sites but primarily in one base and the 1 to 1 section peripatetically across the city, teaching students in key stage 3, 4.

* You may also teach other subjects as required and support non-specialist teachers using your subject specific knowledge and skills.

The job may involve traveling. Due to the nature of demand on the service directed time may vary on a week by week basis
