Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEMH)

Location: Knowle, South Bristol
Hours: 8.30am - 3.30pm
Pay: £100 - £120 (depending on experience)

Role: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to engage with their learning and thrive in a supportive and nurturing environment.

The school is through from primary to sixth form. The school are looking for open minded TAs that bring flexibility and want to give everything a go. Although the school caters for a range of years, they want to support those with experience and comfortability.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assist in implementing individualized learning plans, ensuring students can access the curriculum and achieve their goals.

* Provide emotional and behavioral support, helping students develop coping strategies and resilience.

* Foster a positive learning environment where students feel safe, respected, and valued.

* Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff members to create and maintain effective learning strategies.

* Support students in developing social skills and building positive relationships with peers.

* Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed.

* Promote the Academy’s values of exploration, support, joy, confidence, respect, accountability, equality, and success in all interactions.

Qualifications and Skills:

* Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEMH needs, is desirable.

* A genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of young people.

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff.

* Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to the needs of individual students.

* A positive, patient, and resilient attitude, with a commitment to the Academy’s values.
