Secondary School Teacher (to teach a core subject up to GCSE level, with key worker responsibilities)

Working Hours: Full time (40 hours a week). Term time only (term times as stipulated by Bristol City Council).

About the school:
This school exists to ensure that no child or young person is left without help and that children and young people are supported to build their own resilience and capability.
The school work with 8 - 25-year-olds, through a wide range of play work, youth work, and the provision of alternative education for 14 - 16-year-old young people.

In this role, your primary areas of responsibility will be to:

* Plan, deliver and regularly support the review of an engaging curriculum to ensure the needs of the organisation and its learners are met

* Encourage the development of positive attitudes to learning through well-planned teaching experiences

* Have a creative and innovative approach to planning and teaching to re-engage disaffected learners in education and overcome barriers to learning

* Work effectively with a team of Teachers and support staff to plan and deliver a personalised learning program for learners

* Monitor learner progress through regular formative and summative assessments

* Strong knowledge of assessment for learning strategies and differentiation

* Ensure that the quality of your teaching, learning and assessment is good or better, working with colleagues to achieve this through a team approach

* Monitor student learning, social, emotional and behavioural progress against targets

* Ensure that safeguarding and child protection policies are complied with.

Experience and Attributes:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant experience in education.

* A strong commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable young people.

* Proven experience teaching Key Stage 4 with successful student outcomes.

* Interest in adopting a holistic, child-centered approach to education.

* Ability to contribute creatively to care packages tailored for young people.

* Knowledge of Special Educational Needs (SEND) and experience working with students facing social, emotional, and mental health challenges (SEMH) is a plus, though not essential.

* Skill in implementing clear, consistent, and effective learning strategies to foster excellent relationships and behavior.

* Experience collaborating within a team and contributing to quality assurance processes.

* Familiarity with meeting the requirements of external inspections and standards.

Personal Qualities:

* High energy, drive, and enthusiasm for education.

* Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

* Ability to support and enhance a team-oriented culture.

* A sense of humor and a positive, optimistic attitude.

* Initiative and a self-driven approach to work.

* Capacity to build positive relationships with students and their parents/carers.
