Overview:
The Sr. Financial Analyst supports the financial results and strategic initiatives tied to Health Plan performance, providing consulting and recommendations to insure growth and profitability of third-party payors. Towards this goal, works closely with Health Plan Sales, Regional Finance, Revenue Recognition, and Regional Analytics. Partners with representatives of the Health Plan sales organization on analyses to drive strategic decision making and long-term growth.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the Pre-Close process to consolidate updates on current negotiations and price impacts vs. budget, including review with direct report and other team members on accuracy and completeness
Lead HPP&A on Regional Finance Analytics Pre-Close call to coordinate with Revenue Recognition and Regional Finance
Drive the annual AOP process focused on Pricing Plan of Record and revenue growth budget. Actions including compiling relevant impacts, leading reviews among the team and with regional Health Plan members, reporting out of results, and identifying process improvements
Key liaison to Regional Finance Analytics for Monthly Impacts file, ensuring impacts and budget vs. actuals are accurate
Proactively develop analyses and lead ad hoc requests that provide insights towards and supports Health Plan growth initiatives
Responsible for creating PowerPoint summaries for senior leadership meetings
Streamline reporting outputs, standard analyses, and negotiation outcomes to create efficiencies and centralized repositories
Assist on Pricing Transparency activities including but not limited to analyzing Health Plan price transparency data, compiling relevant findings, leading the reviews of those findings and supporting price transparency tools
Drive the comparable charge process for Health Plan Pricing & Analytics. Actions including creating and maintaining the standard operating process (SOP), compiling and running internal department trainings & trainings for Health Plan Commercial team as needed
Assist on Health Plan Fee Schedule Database activities including but not limited to loading all new fee schedules, upload Medicaid and Medicare trackers to database, 3PF mapping to fee schedules, and ad-hoc requests related to the Fee Schedule Database
Special projects as needed
Qualifications:
BA/BS in Finance, Economics or related field
Minimum of three years of work experience in Finance or related fields
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong financial and analytical skills
Strong data management skills
Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint as well as Internet/Web applications such as Cognos
Proficiency in other products, such as PowerBI, Tableau, and Microsoft Access, a plus
Strong understanding of the healthcare industry and health plans specifically (product types, trends, etc.)
Innovative thinker comfortable with ambiguity to complete tasks
Ability to work effectively cross-functionally in a matrix environment and build/maintain relationships
Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
Experience working with and supporting a Commercial/Sales organization a plus
