Our client is a leading supplier of roofing, siding, and windows, is currently seeking a driven Outside Sales Representative to join their team. This role is vital in building a book of business through prospecting and nurturing strong relationships with contractors, the companys target market.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leveraging sales reports and data to identify opportunities, making cold calls, and managing both existing and new customer accounts. As the business grows, the focus will shift from heavy prospecting to managing a portfolio of accounts. This role is essential for ensuring customer satisfaction and driving revenue growth.
Job Responsibilities
Prospect new clients and build a book of business, gradually shifting to account management as the portfolio grows.
Cultivate and manage long-term customer relationships.
Analyze sales reports and customer data to identify sales opportunities.
Cold call prospective customers and follow up on sales leads.
Schedule appointments and meet with potential clients to present products and services.
Address customer concerns and provide tailored solutions.
Train customers and their teams on various product lines.
Assist with the credit application process and support customers in financial transactions.
Ensure timely payments by following up on past due accounts when necessary.
Qualifications
Prior experience in outside sales, ideally within building materials (lumber, windows, siding, roofing).
Familiarity with product lines and the building contractor process is a plus.
Valid drivers license, reliable transportation, and ability to pass MVR checks.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Professional demeanor and appearance.
Superior time management and organizational abilities.
Compensation
Base salary of $50-65k plus commissions.
On-target earnings for top sales professionals can exceed $200k.
