GSL Education’s Chelmsford branch is seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a dedicated SEN school in Colchester. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and making a real difference in their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities for SEN Learning Support Assistant

Support students with a range of Special Educational Needs in the classroom, on a one-to-one or small group basis.
Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities and adapting materials to meet individual learning needs.
Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where pupils feel safe and confident.
Help with personal care, where necessary, ensuring the dignity and well-being of all students.
Monitor and track students' progress, providing feedback to the teacher and SENCO.
Build positive relationships with students, encouraging social interaction and emotional resilience.
Assist with classroom management and contribute to creating a calm and productive environment.
Qualifications and Experience for SEN Learning Support Assistant:

Experience working with children with SEN, particularly within a school setting, is highly desirable.
Patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to supporting students' learning and development.
Knowledge of SEN strategies, particularly for conditions such as Autism, ADHD, and Speech & Language difficulties.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A valid DBS on the Update Service or a willingness to apply for one.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
