About the Role:

Were on the hunt for a dynamic Employment Law Attorney to join our client's team. This is a remote role for candidates located anywhere in California, with a designated office assigned based on your location. As an Employment Law Attorney, you'll advocate on behalf of employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators, utilizing your expertise in employment law, school district defense, and case management. If you're passionate about employment law and have a proven track record of success in school district defense, we want to meet you!

Your Mission:

Advocate on behalf of employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators (employment law, litigation).

Prepare correspondence to clients, draft pleadings, and manage legal documents (legal writing, document preparation).

Conduct depositions and cross-examinations of doctors, and attend court appearances (courtroom litigation, depositions).

Proactively manage cases, including negotiating settlements and conducting case reviews (case management, settlement negotiation).

Mentor and manage legal assistants and foster relationships with clients, co-workers, and vendors (leadership, mentorship, relationship building).

Participate in marketing events and client meetings, providing legal training and seminars (client relations, marketing, legal training).

Stay current on employment law and ensure compliance with changing laws and statutes (employment law expertise, legal compliance).

Manage administrative tasks, including entering time into billing software and maintaining accurate records in Practice Master (time management, billing, legal administration).

Core Competencies:

Employment Law Expertise: In-depth understanding of employment law and school district defense.

Case Management & Courtroom Skills: Strong experience in proactive case management, litigation, and courtroom practices.

Leadership & Mentorship: Ability to mentor legal assistants and collaborate with team members.

Client Relations: Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, providing expert guidance and legal support.

What You Bring:

Law Degree and licensed in California.

15+ years of experience in employment law, with a focus on school district defense.

Proven expertise in case management, legal writing, and courtroom litigation.

Strong skills in client relations, leadership, and legal training.

Skills Required:

Employment Law: Licensed in CA, with extensive employment law experience.

School District Defense: Proven experience defending school districts in legal cases.

Courtroom Litigation: Skilled in conducting depositions, cross-examinations, and court appearances.

Case Management: Proactive management of legal cases from start to resolution.

Legal Writing & Document Preparation: Drafting pleadings, client correspondence, and other legal documents.

Certifications:

Licensed in California Required.

Law Degree Required.

Education:

Law Degree Required

California Bar License Required

Work Environment & Benefits:

Remote work available for candidates based anywhere in California.

Designated office based on candidate location.

Standard operating hours: 8 AM to 5 PM.

Unlimited PTO and flexibility.

$3,000 quarterly bonus, not based on performance.
