Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our nurturing team at a small, vibrant 1-form entry primary school in Barnet. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a close-knit community where staff support one another and collaborate to foster a positive learning environment. As an SEN Teaching Assistant specializing in SEMH needs, you will play a crucial role in supporting our students’ emotional and social development by providing tailored support to help them engage with the curriculum, fostering a safe and inclusive classroom atmosphere, collaborating with teachers to meet individual needs, encouraging independence through self-regulation strategies, and building trusting relationships that enable students to express their feelings and seek support when needed.

• Experience working with children, particularly those with SEMH needs, is preferred but not essential.
• A positive, compassionate attitude with a passion for supporting children’s development.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A commitment to fostering an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support children in their academic and personal growth, adapting approaches to meet individual needs.
• Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of inclusive teaching strategies.
• Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting SEMH needs.
