About the role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in SEMH to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will provide crucial support to students across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, focusing on those with emotional and behavioral needs. This is a full-time, long-term position offering a salary between £85 and £100 per day.
You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement tailored strategies that address individual learning and emotional needs. Your role will involve supporting students in both one-on-one and group settings, creating an environment where they can engage with the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
Application Requirements:
• Experience: Proven experience working with children with SEMH needs, preferably in a school setting.
• Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in Special Educational Needs or a related field are desirable.
• Skills: Excellent communication skills, patience, and the ability to develop positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Passion: A genuine commitment to supporting and empowering students with SEMH needs.
• Flexibility: Ability to adapt strategies and approaches to meet the varying needs of individual students.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support: Provide individual and small group support to students with SEMH needs, helping them to manage their emotions and behaviors effectively.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teachers to create and implement individualized learning plans and behavior management strategies.
• Monitoring: Observe and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents on the effectiveness of interventions.
• Encouragement: Foster a positive learning environment by promoting student self-esteem and resilience.
• Intervention: Assist in the delivery of therapeutic and educational interventions designed to address specific SEMH needs.
