Overview:

Fortiss, LLC is seeking a Payroll Specialist. This is a fantastic opportunity for any payroll leader who is passionate about being in the weeds and actively participating in the full cycle, multi-company, multi-state payroll process. The ideal candidate is detail oriented and able to work independently in a high-volume environment. He or she will also have working knowledge of payroll laws and processes and have a strong foundation in ADP Workforce Now and Kronos Timekeeping.

Responsibilities:

Support payroll manager and work to ensure regular disbursement of payroll, including garnishments, benefits and taxes consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws.

Perform all tasks and provide services in conformance with policies, procedures, work instructions, training, codes of conduct, recognized best practices, safety laws and regulations.

Ensure the processing of new hires, temporary workers, transfers, promotions and terminations is accurate and timely.

Ensure systems are set-up and updated to reflect our current employee base, including wages, benefits, sick and vacation time in line with contracts.

Attends and participates in learning opportunities and applies new processes, procedures and philosophies.

Audit W-4s, payroll balance sheets, YTD earnings, etc.

Qualifications:

2 year degree in Accounting or equivalent financial field required.

Must have 2 yrs experience payroll processing for high-volume, multi-state, multi-company for a total minimum of 1800 employees.

Strong working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now system and Kronos Timekeeping.

Must have a strong background in MS Office, with expert experience in Excel.

Strong working knowledge of payroll laws and processes (including California payroll laws).

Must be detail-oriented and organized.

Physical and mental requirements

Must be able to sit and bend at neck for 6 or more hours a day.

Position will require repetitive use of hands for the following actions; simple and grasping, fine manipulation and typing for entire shift.

Occasional requirement to stand whilst completing all listed tasks that are not desk-based.

Occasional requirement to reach forward whilst: Inserting and collecting documents from printer/scanner/mailing/machine

Occasional requirement to lift up to 30lbs; this extends to: • Files • Paper reams • File boxes • Office equipment etc.

Must be able to perform all essential duties with or without accommodation.
