Job Summary: 

The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for managing and processing payroll for all employees, with a specific focus on union payroll. This role requires a thorough understanding of union agreements, payroll regulations, and exceptional attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and the ability to handle confidential information with integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

Process payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

Manage union payroll, including calculating and processing union dues, benefits, and other related deductions.

Maintain and update payroll records, including employee information, wage rates, and deductions.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.

Prepare and distribute payroll reports and statements.

Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer employee inquiries regarding payroll.

Collaborate with HR and finance departments to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.

Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and distribution.

Stay current with changes in payroll laws and regulations, particularly those related to union payroll.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field/or equivalent experience.

Proven at least 2 years of experience as a Payroll Specialist, with specific experience in union payroll.

Strong knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices.

Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Relevant certifications (Certified Payroll Professional) are a plus.
