We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist with union experience to join our dynamic team.
Job Description:
Responsibilities:
Manage end-to-end payroll processing for unionized employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with union contracts, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
Interpret and apply collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) to accurately calculate wages, deductions, and benefits.
Prepare and submit certified payroll reports as required by various public entities.
Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure timely updates to employee information.
Address and resolve payroll discrepancies and issues in a timely manner.
Collaborate with HR and finance departments to ensure seamless payroll operations.
Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations, particularly those affecting unionized employees.
Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations as required.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing, with a focus on unionized environments.
Experience in Construction, Manufacture, or Agriculture industry is preferred.
Strong understanding of union contracts, wage scales, prevailing wage laws, and the Davis-Bacon Act.
Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
