About the role:

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in managing challenging behaviours to join our supportive team. This full-time, long-term role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of our students who require extra support.

As our new SEN TA, you will work closely with students exhibiting challenging behaviours, including those with violent tendencies. Your calm, nurturing approach will be pivotal in helping these students engage positively with their learning environment. You will provide 1:1 support, working closely with each student to foster a positive and inclusive classroom experience.

You will be part of a fantastic SEN team and will benefit from our Thrive Trauma support program, which is designed to equip you with the tools and strategies needed to support our students effectively. This role requires a positive attitude, a patient demeanor, and the ability to implement tailored strategies to help students overcome their challenges and thrive academically and personally.

Application Requirements:

• Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably with a specialism in challenging behaviours.

• A calm, patient, and nurturing attitude with a proven ability to handle challenging situations.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support or related fields.

• A commitment to upholding our school’s values of respect, inclusion, and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with challenging behaviours.

• Implement individualised support plans and strategies in collaboration with the SEN team.

• Foster a positive, supportive learning environment that encourages student engagement and participation.

• Monitor and record students’ progress and behaviours, providing feedback to teaching staff and parents as necessary.

• Participate in regular team meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
