Overview:

The Administrative Assistant will support the operations of the SFH Cancer Institute including, but not limited to, the following: duties to support on-site genetic counseling services i.e. responding to all patient inquiries/requests for genetic services, scheduling of appointments and associated clerical duties; cancer program case conferences coordination i.e., meeting preparation/ tracking and other related accredited cancer program activities. Other duties assigned by the Cancer Program Administrator.

Job Details:

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Demonstrates personal concern for the well-being and success of St. Francis Hospital employees and patients.

Schedules appointments for patients seeking genetic counseling services.

Assembles genetic counseling related correspondence for mailing and filing, maintains reports and patient folders.

Retrieves case and patient medical information from internal physicians and other facilities to support case conference reviews.

Set-up and coordination/tracking of case conferences, specifically support for GI case conferences and associated accreditation activities.

Supports department in other cancer program activities requested by the administrator.

Demonstrates knowledge of Compliance Assurance Program, Standards of Conduct and the St. Francis Hospital Compliance Assurance Helpline.  Employees are in receipt of a copy of the Compliance Assurance Program Handbook.  Employees will perform all work activities according to the highest ethical and legal standards.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong oral and interpersonal skills, must be able to multitask with ability to attend to details; strong service excellence skills.

HS Diploma/GED required. Previous hospital/medical practice experience preferred.

Knowledge of medical terminology; basic computer skills and data entry, Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook; experience with EPIC and virtual meeting platforms.

Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard.

Posted Salary Range:

USD $23.46 - USD $32.85 /Hr.

The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
