Job Summary:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and efficient Team Leader to join our food production team. The Team Leader will be responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of our production line and ensuring the efficient packaging of our food products. This pivotal role demands strong leadership, attention to detail, and a steadfast commitment to maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate the activities of production and packing operatives to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maximize manufacturing efficiency and safety.

Monitor production processes, including ingredient handling, cooking, packaging, and labelling, to ensure compliance with quality and quantity specifications.

Conduct regular quality checks on products and packaging, utilizing visual inspections, weight measurements, and integrity tests, to promptly address any deviations or defects.

Oversee the packing of finished products into appropriate containers, ensuring accurate labelling and coding according to customer requirements and regulatory standards.

Enforce cleanliness and hygiene protocols within production areas, equipment, and packaging materials to uphold rigorous hygiene standards and prevent contamination.

Assist with inventory management tasks, including stock rotation, raw material replenishment, and accurate recording of production data.

Ensure compliance with safety protocols and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to maintain a secure working environment for all team members.

Collaborate with team members and supervisors to troubleshoot equipment issues, address production challenges, and implement process improvements to optimize efficiency and quality.

Always uphold Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety regulations to ensure product integrity and alignment with industry standards.

Facilitate training programs and skill development initiatives for production and packing operatives to enhance job knowledge, technical skills, and overall performance.

Proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement, actively contributing ideas to streamline workflows, minimize waste, and enhance product quality.

Management of Agency Staff during Peak Periods:

Deployment: Schedule and assign agency staff based on workload and skills.

Supervision: Provide guidance, monitor performance, and offer feedback.

Communication: Maintain dialogue with agencies to address issues promptly.

Optimization: Adjust staffing levels to meet production targets efficiently.

Compliance: Ensure adherence to legal and contractual obligations.

Problem Resolution: Resolve conflicts and issues promptly and professionally
