Position Overview:
Welcome to the role of Part-Time Maintenance Worker. In this role, you will assist in the regular maintenance and housekeeping responsibilities for all Beitzel Corporation and Pillar based properties located in Grantsville, MD and Bittinger, MD. This is a hands-on position will require indoor/outdoor facility management and general housekeeping. This position will perform general safety, cleanliness, and maintenance of the: Beitzel Fabrication Shop, Beitzel Mechanic Shop, Pillar Building, Beitzel Machining & Fabrication Shop, and the Beitzel Corporate Headquarters building. All assigned properties are located in Grantsville, MD.
The standard hours for this position are typically 10 AM to 6:30 PM, but flexibility is required, including availability for evenings, nights, weekends, and emergency call-outs.
What You'll Do:
Housekeeping Responsibilities:
Maintain cleanliness of work areas including but not limited to: trash removal, cleaning of work spaces, vacuuming, cleaning of kitchen and break areas; stocking and cleaning of restrooms, cleaning of windows and mirrors, dusting, sweeping, mopping, tidying, etc.
Perform some housekeeping duties
Replacing light bulbs
Stocking necessary maintenance products and supplies
Coordinate and participate in cleanings in advance of and after special company events
Coordinate and participate in seasonal cleanings (eg:, Spring cleaning and winterizing)
Adhere to all company safety practices and policies
Facility Management Responsibilities:
Ensuring that basic facilities, such as water, lighting and heating/air conditioning, are well maintained
Installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems and fixtures, including toilet replacements, faucet replacements, water heater replacements, soldering, and common plumbing repairs
troubleshooting/resolving plumbing problems in a timely manner
Coordinate and participate in lawn and parking lot care
Coordinate and participate in winter snow removal
Coordinate and participate in any relocation and setup of workspaces
Coordinate and participate in seasonal window cleaning
Manage the general maintenance of the Fabrication Facility
Ensure compliance with all safety protocol
Working Conditions
Sit, talk, listen, observe, read, write and type
Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include overtime as needed
Position involves sitting, bending, lifting, walking
Must be customer-focused and professional without exception
Flexible and motivated to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment
What You'll Bring:
Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a valid driver's license
3-5 years of basic commercial/residential plumbing experience
Experience with general facilities maintenance is preferred
must possess basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and HVAC/R
Must possess and demonstrate excellent organizational skills
Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with cross-functional teams
Knowledge of processes and procedures related to housekeeping and maintenance is preferred
Experience and knowledge of winterizing processes is preferred
Willing and able to work a flexible schedule when needed to include afternoons, evenings, weekends, and emergency call-out work
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Team-oriented and able to work effectively and efficiently with others
Working Conditions:
This position is a hands-on, physical position that will require the following:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
Must be safety and customer-focused, without exception
Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching and handling of materials
Repetitive lifting, bending, and squatting is inherent to this position
Must be able and willing to work outside for long periods of time, even during harsh weather
