Adecco are delighted to be supporting a London Borough Council in their recruitment of an interim Stock Condition Surveyor.
The role will require you to conduct comprehensive stock condition surveys of the council's housing and non-residential properties to assess their physical condition, compliance with regulations, and maintenance needs. You will play a vital role in ensuring the effective management and upkeep of the council's property portfolio, providing technical reports and recommendations for planned maintenance, repairs, and improvements.
Requirements:
Qualifications: Relevant qualification in building surveying, property management, or a related field (HNC/HND/Degree).
Experience: Demonstrable experience in conducting stock condition surveys within a public sector or social housing environment.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of building construction, property maintenance, housing standards (including Decent Homes), health and safety regulations, and energy efficiency standards.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in using asset management software (e.g., Keystone or Northgate), along with good IT skills (MS Office).
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, detailed reports and liaise effectively with residents, contractors, and colleagues.
Driving License: Full, clean UK driving license (some travel within the borough may be required).Desirable:
Professional Membership: Chartered status with RICS, CIOB, or similar professional body (or working towards it).
Experience working within a local authority or housing association environment.
Knowledge of sustainability practices in building maintenance and refurbishment
