Overview:

The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for performing a range of accounting and clerical tasks related to the accounts payable function. This generally includes receiving, processing, and verifying invoices, as well as organizing, tracking, and processing payments.

This position is based on-site at Avita's Corporate Accounting office in Baton Rouge, LA (10604 Coursey Blvd). The regular office hours are M-F 7:30am to 4:30pm, with extra hours possible during month-end, year-end, etc.

About the Role:

Verify, enter, code, and obtain approval for vendor invoices, check requests, and expense reports per assignment

Pull vendor invoices from web portals in a timely manner and process within the payables system before the due date

Maintain vendor accounts, which includes verifying monthly invoices are received and accurate, ensuring vendors are paid on time, and staying in compliance with company policies and procedures by obtaining W9 and certificate of insurances when applicable

Create and organize payment runs and one-off payments, which includes verifying said payments before presenting to the Corporate Controller for a signature by reviewing checks and/or payment entries (ACH/EFT) and balancing to a subtotal

Review and reconcile invoice and vendor discrepancies

Update vendor information as needed

Address and respond to vendor inquiries

Audit and process credit card transactions

Perform data entry and auditing associated with Accounts Payable

Perform other related duties as assigned

Perform in accordance with company policies and standards

About You:

High school diploma required; Associate's degree in Accounting preferred

1+ year of experience in Accounts Payable or General Accounting preferred

Proficient Microsoft Office knowledge and skills, especially Excel

Strong time management, organizational, and analytical skills

High degree of attention to detail

Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

Willing and able to work extra hours as needed during month-end, quarter-end, year-end, etc.
