Job Description

The Red Gate Group is seeking a highly motivated entry-level Staff Accountant to join our team in Chantilly, VA. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be a key player in our accounting department, driving the accuracy and timeliness of our financial records and reports. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for supporting critical accounting functions, including managing accounts payable and receivable, processing payroll, reconciling accounts, and maintaining the general ledger. You will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth financial operations of our organization, contributing to monthly and quarterly closes, and providing valuable insights through financial analysis and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform and maintain accounting functions such as processing accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), payroll, and general ledger maintenance.

Process weekly check runs, expense reports, and manage banking activities, including positive pay/ACH submissions and credit card reconciliations.

Reconcile payroll reports, ensure accuracy in vendor-prepared payroll tax returns, and process timesheets and labor postings.

Review AP and AR aging reports, resolve outstanding payments, and generate accurate billings in a timely manner.

Maintain depreciation schedules and reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.

Support special projects, ad hoc requests, and assist in developing and implementing accounting control procedures.
