Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs (SEN)? Empowering Learning is seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join a vibrant primary school in Whetstone, Barnet. We have both full-time and part-time positions available for enthusiastic individuals who are committed to making a difference in the lives of young learners.

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Whetstone, Barnet
Contract: Full-time and part-time roles available
Start Date: Immediate

About the Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with children across various year groups, providing one-on-one support and small group interventions to help them reach their full potential. You will assist in developing tailored learning plans, manage classroom behaviour, and promote a positive and inclusive learning environment. Whether you are working full-time or part-time, your role will be crucial in supporting students with SEN, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and succeed in their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide personalised support to children with SEN, including those with autism, ADHD, and other learning difficulties.
Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and tailored learning strategies.
Support the class teacher in delivering lessons and creating a nurturing, inclusive environment.
Help to manage classroom behaviour and promote positive social interactions.
Monitor and report on pupils' progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
Work closely with the SENCo, teachers, and other staff to ensure that the specific needs of each child are met.
Adapt learning materials to suit the varying needs of pupils.

About You:

Experience working with children with SEN is highly desirable.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A patient, empathetic, and understanding approach.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support (preferred but not essential).
Passion for supporting children's development and learning
