About the role: Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our warm and welcoming primary school in Enfield, London. This rewarding role offers you the chance to support students in Reception with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). As an experienced SEN TA, you will be crucial in helping students develop their communication, social, and academic skills in a nurturing environment. This is a full-time, long-term position running until the end of the academic year, giving you the opportunity to form strong, lasting relationships with the children you support.

Application Requirements:

• Experience working with children with Autism (ASD): Proven experience supporting students with Autism in a classroom setting, particularly in early years or primary education.
• Understanding of SEN strategies: A strong understanding of special educational needs (SEN) and effective strategies for supporting students with social, emotional, and communication difficulties.
• Relevant qualifications: A minimum of a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent experience in a SEN support role.
• Enhanced DBS check: A current, valid Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one) is essential for working with children.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored support to students with Autism, adapting learning materials and approaches to meet individual needs.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities.
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional development, helping children feel confident and valued.
• Work 1:1 or in small groups to ensure all pupils can access the curriculum and achieve their potential.
• Collaborate with other staff members and parents to monitor student progress and well-being.
