We have an exciting opportunity for a Mobile Process Chemist Graduate, to work with the Divisional Operations team to achieve business objectives by developing chemical processes that enhance product technical performance, improve quality, and reduce manufacturing costs within agreed timescales. The projects will vary in size, ranging from small continuous improvement initiatives to large capital projects.

Responsibilities of our Mobile Process Chemist Graduate

You will be playing a critical role within projects where at time you will be able to lead the entire project overseeing all aspects, and on other occasions focusing on a particular aspect providing your expertise and skills to drive project success. You will be responsible for agreeing the scope and specifications of projects with the relevant stakeholders, which will include; input in developing and updating standard specifications documents, developing new technologies; agreeing safety strategy & measures.

You will be supporting the Divisional Development & Process Leader in project planning, allocation of project resources, contractor supervision, cost estimation, and cost tracking.

You will have a thorough understanding of our manufacturing lines as you will be involved in process development and commissioning; this will include the chemical laydown area, process control, laminators, and curing ovens.

It is essential that you have a strong understanding of the raw materials ensuring the quality and compliance of our products with the relevant technical declarations is of utmost importance. You will be evaluating raw materials efficiently and selecting suitability for adding to formulations.

You will manage health & safety at all stages of a project from conception, through trials, installation & commissioning into operation and must ensure compliance with Kingspan’s Health & Safety policies at all times.

As part of the role, there will be an expectation to undergo an initial training period within the Research and Development (R&D) department for 6-12 months. Following this training period, you will transition to the Divisional Operations team. It is essential to have a willingness to relocate as there are opportunities to progress into a more senior role at one of the global manufacturing sites in the coming years.

Skills and Experience required of our Mobile Process Chemist Graduate

Degree level in Chemistry (or related)

Analytical approach to problem solving

High attention to detail

Technical ability and knowledge of plant and process

HAZOP Analysis

IT literacy with particular experience of Microsoft Outlook,Word and Excel

Professional demeanour

A full drivers licence valid in the UK

Additional Language(s) would be desirable

Willingness to train and develop within the business

Experience of working within a hazardous area
