Learning Support Assistant Job Description:
A mainstream primary school in South Croydon is seeking a dedicated and compassionate full-time Learning Support Assistant to support children with special educational needs (SEN) in Key Stage 1. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact on young learners' lives, helping them thrive in an inclusive and supportive environment.
Learning Support Assistant Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 or small group support for SEN pupils in Key Stage 1.
Work collaboratively with class teachers and the SENCO to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
Assist in adapting classroom activities and resources to meet the diverse needs of pupils.
Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages social and academic development.
Support children with both learning and emotional needs, ensuring a safe and encouraging space for them to succeed.Learning Support Assistant Requirements:
Previous experience working with SEN children is essential.
Ability to communicate effectively with children, staff, and parents.
A calm, patient, and nurturing approach to support children's development.
Passion for helping children with special educational needs reach their full potential.
