Production Engineer | Space | Chelmsford

An exciting opportunity exists for an Engineer to join the Space Imaging Team in Chelmsford which provides performance CCD, Infrared and CMOS sensors for space science, earth observation, astronomy, and high energy physics applications.

Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Technician to join our highly successful manufacturing team, to develop high precision silicon assembly and provide onward support to manufacture.

Role Summary:

Development of new and existing Probe capabilities for the testing of CCD / CMOS Wafers
Work with Production Engineers to ensure DFM (design for manufacture) is optimized
Assist with development and writing procedures for the prototyping of new products
Continuous improvement of existing manufacturing processes and work instructions, working with the wider production/manufacturing team
Generation of SAP ME routings from the manufacturing flow diagrams
Ensure all documentation is confirmed through Configuration Control Boards (CCBs)
Manage and optimize operations flow (information and production flow)
Assist with production trials and ensure all relevant documentation is completed
Work to existing NPI processesQualifications:

Experience of Production/Manufacturing as an Engineer or Technician
Experience of developing manufacturing processes
Experience of working in a project manufacturing environment
Excellent problem-solving skills, with documented results
The ability to work effectively in a team
Self-motivation
Attention to detail
HNC in Engineering or Physics or equivalent experience
Desirable skills:
Experience within an Electronics product manufacturing environment
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbalSalary and Benefits:
