CK Group are currently recruiting for a Process Development Scientist to join a mineral-based speciality solutions company at their site based in Cornwall on a full time, permanent basis offering a salary ranging up to £35,000 per annum.

Our client is a leading supplier of mineral-based specialty solutions and delivers high-value-added, functional solutions to a great number of sectors, from processing industries to consumer goods. The Group draws on its understanding of applications, technological knowledge and expertise in material science to deliver solutions by beneficiating its mineral resources, synthetic minerals and formulations.

Location:

Cornwall.

Your main duties will be:

Responsible for conducting laboratory bench-scale metallurgical and process chemistry test work.
Responsible for safe operation of laboratory equipment, contribution to sustaining capital and improvement capita; requests, logging and recording trial and analytica; data, and technical reporting of the outcomes of bench-scale trials.
Responsible for basic maintenance and calibrations of laboratory equipment.
Managing the interpretation of data and the technical deliverables of the team.
Providing technical expertise in process chemistry, laboratory processes, laboratory safety, and analytical methods.
Responsible for chemical hazard mitigation, including the maintenance and updating of COSHH records for laboratory chemicals.
Responsible for sample collection, sample preparation, drying, filtration, splitting, crushing, pulverising, pelletising, pXRF testing.

Your Background:

The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:

Degree level qualification in Chemistry or earth science.
Experience of working in a process laboratory environment.
Knowledge of Lithium chemistries - desirable.
Knowledge of health & safety standards and COSHH regulations.
Working knowledge of process design for mineral and chemical processes.
Experience of managing and developing others.
