Core Systems Network Engineer

The Opportunity:

My client are a telecommunications company who are currently on the lookout for core systems network engineer on a permanent basis where you will be working within a close-knit team that are at the forefront of my client's transition into an established Internet Service Provider.

You will need to take a DevOps first approach, where you will be involved in ongoing deployments and continuous improvement works to increase capacity as the company grows the subscriber base. You will be heavily involved in the software and hardware life cycles for Core Network managed devices, including vulnerability management and patching; and ideally you will need to be comfortable with using Automation techniques to enable the above activities.

Skills and Experience:

• Configuration of core network equipment
• Working on range of network types including FTTP, Fixed Wireless and Mobile
• Assisting Core Systems Manager/Network Manager when required
• Strong knowledge of Automation - Ansible/using API's to integrate network services
• Programming and Scripting skills (Python, Bash, PHP)
• Juniper experience or certified to JNCIP-SP or Cisco (CCNP) equivalent level.
• MPLS, LDP/RSVP/SR experience
• CoS/QoS implementation knowledge
• BGP/ISIS/OSPF experience
• Experience in a multi-vendor network environment - HP/Aruba, Dell, Fortinet
