Frontline Recruitment Derby Limited are working in partnership with a global aerospace manufacturing company who require a Senior Manufacturing Engeineer to report into the Engineering Manager.
Purpose of the Role:
To work & plan the new machining & fabrication packages ensuring that lean manufacturing techniques are utilised. This will involve seeing parts from start to finish, working closely with production to improve and reduce costs. This is a hands-on role supporting the day to day engineering requirements, leading a team of engineers, working on current and future projects for their Derby site.
Accountabilities:
* Lead a small team of engineers which will include estimating/programming/planning engineers
* Introduce new products - planning methods of manufacture & industrialisation of new products from start to finish
* Identify tooling needs, working with subcontractors on detailed quotes & solutions
* Support all departmentss & trouble shooting issues
* Identify improvement opportunities & cost reduction
* Attend weekly meetings & project reviews
Core Skills/Attributes:
* Project Management
* Must have proven Engineering background in Aerospace
* Knowledge of machining/fabrication/welding processors
* Planning, creating route cards/job cards using MRP system
* Estimating experience - overseeing quotes
* Ability to read and understand drawings
* Experience of lean manufacturing
* Knowledge of SOP documents and control plan creation
Hours
Days - Monday to Friday, 8-4.45 pm, 12.30 pm finish on a Friday!
Salary
Circa £45k, subject to negotiation based on experience
