Our client is an award-winning building design consultancy currently experiencing a period of growth. With exciting new projects on the horizon, they are looking for a Senior Structural Technician to join them on a permanent basis. With sites across the North, North East and North West, this person has the possibility to based in any the offices on a hybrid basis.

This is a newly created position that is to provide additional support to the Structures Team. You will be working with a strong team of Engineers and Technicians to develop structural designs to meet the client’s specifications. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with colleagues to work across a multi-disciplined workforce, sharing your knowledge as well as developing your own skills.

About the Senior Structural Technician Role

As Senior Structural Technician, you will lead and produce Revit Models and AutoCAD drawings on a variety of projects from feasibility, concept and detailed design stages, construction and handover.

Other responsibilities include:

* Undertake site surveys to develop the brief and to proactively progress the design.

* Communicate and collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team to develop a structural design that meets client and key stakeholder requirements.

* Responsible for the production, supervision and coordination of 3D BIM models and 2D drawings using Revit and AutoCAD, respectively.

* Produce sketches and detailed drawings appropriate to RIBA staged delivery

* Supervising and mentoring of junior and less experienced members of the structures team in Revit and AutoCAD to set and maintain high standards.

About You – The Senior Structural Technician

As the Senior Structural Technician, you will be proficient in the use of AutoCAD to produce detailed technical models and drawings, alongside experience in structural detailing.

Other requirements include:

* HND/HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)

* Experience working on new building designs and refurbishment projects, especially in structural steelwork and reinforced concrete.

* Experienced in RIBA staged project delivery and maintaining budget.

* Computer literate, with excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
