Job Description
Greeting, welcoming, and escorting guests to tables in the restaurant. Maintaining a friendly, courteous and efficient operation of the dining room to ensure guest satisfaction and manageable flow of service. The Host is the first and last impression of the restaurant, therefore it is imperative the interactions with both internal and external guests are positive at all times.
Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
Interact with arriving and departing guests
Answer the phone using company standards and etiquette
Take, record, and confirm with accuracy restaurant reservations in accordance with the reservation guidelines
Use the Open Table system to input bookings and track Guest progress throughout the meal service periods
Use clear and concise communication with the assistants, servers, bartenders and the managers regarding the needs of the guests
Escort guests to the appropriate table in the dining room
Act as point of contact between guests and leadership
Engage and interact with guests to create a friendly, attentive, and memorable dining experience
Tailor guest experience
Be familiar with all menu items and aspects and services of the property
Assist in cleaning, clearing and setting tables
Maintain cleanliness of the restaurant
Be familiar with all food outlets and amenities within the property
May assist with inventory and requisition forms
Be knowledgeable of general city information as well as hotel history
Be an ambassador for the department, the property and the brand
Other duties as assigned
